Two hearts, one dream:

Carry on the heritage of classical equitation.

This is our commitment. Every day. Because horses mean everything to us.

We are Lisa Voss and José Carlos Coutinho: United in our passion and sharing the same dedication. For the horses, for the art of equitation, for you.

We offer first class riding lessons on our stallions trained up to high school level here in Portugal.

We take care of riders with their own horses individually – online and on site.

We give clinics worldwide, train horses for our clients and find the right dream horse for everyone.

Have a look around. We’re looking forward to meeting you!

Philosophy

Does the art of riding make a horse a living piece of art? We believe that the horse itself is an artist. Sometimes one that could even evolve more naturally without us riders.

Too often, we are more of a nuisance on its back than a help, and we are seldom aware of it. Actually, when we disturb its movements, when we do not care about its needs and do not confirm its fine way of communicating. And that can happen rather quickly.

But if we, the riders, manage to understand the horse’s movements, with our minds and even more with every fiber of our bodies, then we can create a greater work of art together with the horse. We can help him to unfold the full splendor that lies within him. We can help it reach unbelievable strength, ease and energy through good, thoughtful and sensitive training. Let it be the best horse it can be.

So how do you do that? What is the best way to help the horse? These are questions every trainer asks himself – more than once in his lifetime.

We, too, have taken many paths, learned from great riding masters, gathered knowledge and developed skills. We have tried, read and thought. Dismissed some methods, kept some.

We are deeply grateful to our teachers – because the foundation of our work is based on their tremendeous experience. But we have stopped trying to fit ourselves into a scheme.

What matters is the daily work. If it makes our horses prouder, stronger and happier, we have done it right.

We should be measured by the judgment of our horses. Because we ride for them and not for the eyes of others.
